Cattle Compensation Fund
At Tiger Watch, we recognize the immense challenges faced by communities living alongside India’s magnificent big cats. The Cattle Compensation Fund, launched in August 2024, is our dedicated effort to provide timely and meaningful financial assistance to livestock owners impacted by leopard and tiger depredation. The Rajasthan Forest Department compensates the affected families
Generously Supported By
We are deeply grateful for the partnership and generous financial backing of Sud Chemie India Pvt. Ltd., a company demonstrating its commitment to fostering sustainable coexistence between humans and wildlife.
What We Cover
We understand the critical role livestock plays in the livelihoods of local communities. Our fund offers compensation for the following livestock killed or fatally injured by leopards or tigers:
- Cows
- Goats
- Buffaloes
- Sheep
Swift Support
While the forest department offers its own compensation schemes, we recognize the urgency of these situations and the potential hardships faced by families. The Cattle Compensation Fund is dedicated to processing verified claims and delivering support within 2-3 days, ensuring prompt relief to affected communities.
Eligibility & Process
- Livestock owners experiencing a loss due to a leopard or tiger attack should report the incident to both the Gram Panchayat and Tiger Watch as soon as possible.
- Our team will work closely with the affected family to verify the claim and assess the extent of the loss.
- Once verified, compensation will be disbursed directly to the affected livestock owner within the stipulated timeframe.
Together, We Can
The Cattle Compensation Fund is more than just a financial aid program. It symbolizes our shared commitment to promoting harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife. By supporting impacted communities, we can build trust, encourage tolerance, and ensure a future where people and wildlife thrive together.
